Esperance Abedi Zuena is an honors graduate of Western Michigan University to academic rigor led her to join the Lee Honors College, where she engaged in advanced research, critical inquiry, and leadership development—experiences that expanded the boundaries of traditional learning. She is also a proud member of Alpha Lambda Delta, a national society that recognizes outstanding achievement and dedication to scholarship and service.
Esperance’s Honors Thesis, “The Impact of the Oil Industry on the Texas Economy,” analyzed the industry’s influence on regional development, employment, and economic policy, reflecting her ability to apply rigorous research and analytical skills to real-world economic challenges.
She completed her secondary education at Jewels International School in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, where she first developed her passion for learning, leadership, and community engagement—values that continue to guide her academic and professional journey today.
